I started out by reading Tom Hubbard's site in the summer of '99, mulling it over, and continuing to read the forum linked from his site and then this forum. I was always most interested in posts describing positive results, which convinced me it might be possible, and after some initial fumbling I started going at it seriously late in '99. (millenium resolution type thing) Anyway I should probably cut to the bare facts then ramble on below where everyone can skip it.
Started at: 6"L x 5"G (non bone-pressed, I always just measured whats outside the body...still not convinced there's much difference in variation one way or the other)
First time period: 11/99-7/00
SUMMARY: Gained 1"L and .5"G, fairly "easily" and in around 6 months time.
-I did hanging and jelquing, with a varying schedule in which I tried to get 2 hours of some type of exercise done per day. (There wasn't the same emphasis on rest days back then)
As a rough estimate, I'll guess I got in two hours worth five days a week on average, mostly hanging.
-I used various homemade hanging contraptions, which aren't really worth describing because they basically sucked and I can't recommend them. Suffice to say I was able to work my way up to 8-9 pounds weight and put in a lot of hours hanging it.
-I did 30-60 minute jelq sessions (a few longer ones) at what I would say was a fairly high intensity. It took me some time and practice to learn how to do it the right way so as to really exert some stress on the penis and not just be uselessly tugging on it.
I started having results after 4 months or so of this but never really kept strict records. I do know that by summer of '00 (after 8 months or so) I was 7"L NBP and 5.5"G. At this time I got overzealous about it, tried to hang and jelq too much/too hard for too long, and ended up with that sort of perma-bruising on the head. Also I had developed a few stretch marks I wasn't all that fond of. I tried to continue for awhile but it seemed like everytime I'd do something, jelq or hang, I'd end up with more bruising. I'd get like a sharp momentary stinging sensation in the head, end up with another bruise/blemish, let it try to heal a week, repeat. Anyway I got sick of it and worried I'd end up making it look permanently weird so I quit.
I quit for about 4 months with nothing but some light and tentative jelq, size stayed the same. Most of the bruising and blemishes went away but I still have a very faint discolation on the underside of the head, its not really noticeable though.
Second time period, 12/00-present
SUMMARY: Stuck with no gains, perhaps a slight girth increase.
Started back at it but with a different mindset, I still put the work into it but am much less obsessed/determined to get gains. It seems silly now that I was so determined to force it that I risked injury, after all I'm average or a bit above, happily married and wife likes it fine, good sex life, and no prospect/intention of cheating. So now I approach it as more of a longterm hobby, I'd like to gain more but if I don't I can live with it. Anyway long story short, I keep forgetting:

-I did a lot of very light hanging (2-5 lbs), more for the constant stretch. I can keep this weight on long periods of time.
-No result from the above so I started trying to increase the hanging weight but ran into the same wall as before- my homemade methods just don't cut it past 10 lbs or so, too much pain.
-3 months ago I got sick of it and ordered a bib hanger, and from there on out the report probably belongs in current routines. I will say I'm hanging around 18 lbs now and feel like a significant amount of 'work' is being done.
Anyway, thats pretty much my story, sorry its a bit vague and rambling. All in all I consider it a success, even if my results aren't exactly dramatic. I've been wanting to post it for awhile now but never got around to it, because of all the personal experiences I read when I was starting that inspired me to actually do something. Thanks to all those people I've gone from 6x5 to 7x5.5 which is like from dead average to somewhat above. This might not make the attention-grabbing section of some pay site but its a significant increase and I'm happy with it.
