Anyone here into guns?? |
Lead | |
|
I've been shooting and hunting since I was 13.(I'm 32 now). In the past couple of years I've become interested in legal machine guns and suppressors. To date I have two machine guns (M11 9mm and a MAC10 .45 w/suppressor). They're both a real blast to shoot! The M11 runs about 1100 RPM and the MAC 10 runs about 1000 RPM with the suppressor on. Anyone else here into this sort of thing? I can provide some web addressses of some very informative sites if anyone's interested. Not all states allow them and the ones that do there is a fair amount of paper work and waiting for approval to get one, not to mention the expense. A MAC runs about $1000.00 new and a good suppressor runs about $600.00 new plus a federal govt. tax of $200.00 for each machine gun or suppressor that you buy. You Class 3 guys already know all of this for sure, I'm just cluing in the potential newbies. What do you guys like? MG's, rifles, pistols, shotguns?

I've been "into" guns since high school....LOL ok only about 8 years. I enjoy hunting with a rifle (bambi has made a few tasty meals!), and I absolutely LOVE Glock pistols! I had a model 22 (.40 caliber) for a few months and loved it but, wanted something a little smaller and easier to shoot in a real life @#%$ hits the fan type scenario so I traded it in for a new in box model 19 which is the slightly smaller and 9mm version. So, my carry choice is my Glock 19 loaded with 10 rounds of 115 grain corbon hollow points. According to the book Street Stoppers, that loading is the balistic eqivalent of a 125 grain .357 magnum hollow point load as far as the whole "one shot stop" thing is concerned. My DREAM full auto/select fire weapon is the Glock 18!! 33 rounds on full auto out the recieving end in about 2 seconds!

My buddy used to own a gun shop, sold it about 5 years ago he used to have a pistol range in the basement I used to shoot at least once a week for years my buddy almost went into the Olympics. My pistol of choice was a 9mm. 357's were fun if you turned off the lights the flash from the muzzle was really wild. Still shoot[don't have a ny pistol permit] but only when we get to go upstate to my friends cabin "Beer and Guns O what fun" Dino |

The state I live in is a "shall issue" carry state.(Georgia) I've had my carry permit for about four years now. My choice carry piece is my stainless Taurus PT92 9mm. It looks and functions like the Beretta, but not as expensive. I've fired over 1,000 rounds without one jam. It's kinda hard to hide though, usually I have to leave my shirt untucked. Holds 15 rnds in the standard mag and 20rnds in an aftermarket mag I bought that stays in the glove box. I've owned a Glock .45 and it was too big for my small hands. I've also owned a stainless Springfield .45 pistol, but kept having trouble with it rusting so it had to go. I hope to add a suppressor to my 9mm within the next year and buy an M16 in the next 2-3 years. If anyone is interested in machineguns and the like go to www.subguns.com and go to the NFA AD BOARD and NFA DISCUSSION BOARD. When buying a machinegun civilians must buy the ones registered as "transferable" all other mgs are for sale to law enforcement, military and mg dealers only.
EZBOARD also has a MAC discussion board that discusses all MAC type machine guns, suppressors and accessories. There also a buy and sell board there. S. Die Osama you M.F. |

I grew up in the country and was around guns all of my life. Not to get into the gun legislation thing in the USA, but there are some misconceptions. I'll just say that there are crazies and idiots on both sides of the issue.
StillWant, if you want some stopping power (won't work for your nine or other autos) and you do your own reloading (the cartridges, not the gun for those who don't know), try turning the lead of a hollow-point around when you reload your shells (the bullet will be snub-nosed, meaning flat). Good for close range only (not target practice), as you've basically got a tumbling chunk of metal flying through the air. Also, more powder is not always better. It depends on what you're looking for. |

Interesting discussion - I like guns too. Handguns only for me. Have three semiautos and three revolvers. My carry is a Smith 469, 13 round capacity and my loads are Glazer Safelty Slugs for stopping power. Glad to hear about the hollow points though stillwantmore - I'll get some as backup. I enjoy 300 gallery 22 target shooting with my Smith 41, plinking with my Ruger 357 Bisley and Colt 45 Combat Elite. Thought about reloading. Is anybody into that? How much does it cost to get into and how many rounds do you have to shoot on a regular basis to make it worthwhile? By the way, for you carry guys - what is your most comfortable way to carry? Holsters? Fun topic! Thanks for bringing it up.

carl011, I Like to carry with a soft holster without a retention strap. It's an inside the waistband right hand draw. I wear it in my front left with my shirt untucked. If I wear it at an angle it's not uncomfortable and easy to draw. My weapon is double action on the first round so I carry loaded with the safety off.
www.subguns.com has a reloading discussion board. The guys and gals there know a heck of alot. Stretchin SSSsssssssssss~<

Thanks for the info Stretchin. I also use a soft (Uncle Mike's) holster but right hand draw from the right hip. Sometimes that gets uncomfortable, especially when driving, but to crossdraw from the left...with what I wear, it would be seen. Have a shoulder holster too, but haven't used it in years. I too carry with one in the chamber and mine is double action first shot too, but I still keep the safety on. Again, depends on what I'm wearing. Thanks for the link - I'll check it out.
